Re-founding Fathers of the Texas Chapter
Acacia Fraternity has been a significant part of the University of Texas at Austin Greek community for decades and shares a rich history in Austin of contributing to the community and campus. After a brief absence, the Texas Chapter was re-founded at UT in the fall of 2003 by seven young men eager to bring a new kind of fraternity to the University of Texas. The colonizing effort was conceived and funded by the Acacia Expansion Association, an organization of alumni devoted to enlarging Acacia Fraternity. The alumni initiated the first seven men of the new Texas colony in December of 2003 and capped off the ceremonies with a banqet at the Driskill Hotel. Since that time, each of these men has played a crucial role in leading Acacia to its position at the UT campus today. Pictured above:
